FORT LAUDERDALE, FL — November 2, 2026 — The 2nd Mile, a documentary series exploring the personal challenges behind entrepreneurship, features architect and AI Spaces founder Juliana Newman-Fernandez in a powerful story of loss, resilience, and starting over.
After nearly three decades building a successful design business in Colombia, Newman-Fernandez found herself locked out of the company she had helped create following a painful partnership dispute.
“One day I was going into the building and my card reader didn’t work,” she recalls in the documentary. “I wasn’t allowed into the company I had built and the building I had built, which was devastating, to say the least.”
Determined to move forward, she began rebuilding her career in the United States. But establishing a new company came with significant challenges. After investing approximately $700,000 and struggling to gain traction, a change in business strategy helped her secure major clients, including Microsoft and Blackstone.
The documentary explores not only her professional reinvention but also the relationships, sacrifices, and personal determination that shaped her journey.
Today, Newman-Fernandez is focused on growing AI Spaces while pursuing a larger mission of empowering women through entrepreneurship.
“I think it’s never too late to restart,” she says.
Produced by filmmakers Arash Farsi and Matteo Dill, The 2nd Mile goes beyond conventional business success stories to reveal the defining moments that shape entrepreneurs.
The series is currently streaming on Roku, Amazon Fire TV, and Google TV.
